[4] Yeon-gak-bul-gyo(연각불교, 緣覺佛敎, Pratyekabuddha Buddhism)

 

 

 

Yeon-gak-bul-gyo(연각불교, 緣覺佛敎, Pratyekabuddha Buddhism) includes Seon-gyo(선교, 仙敎, Seon religion or Zen religion) that Yeon-deung-bul(연등불, 燃燈佛, Dipamkara buddha) and Mun-su-bo-sal I(문수보살 1세, 文殊菩薩 1世, Munsu bodhisattva I) pursued Sin-seon-do(신선도, 神仙道) that was popular in Dan-gun-jo-seon(단군조선, 檀君朝鮮, 2333BC~232BC) and has steps such as In-seon(인선, 人仙, person shénxiān), Ji-seon(지선, 地仙, land shénxiān), Cheon-seon(천선, 天仙, sky shénxiān) and Gyeum-seon(금선, 金仙, gold shénxiān). Yeon-gak-bul-gyo(연각불교, 緣覺佛敎, Pratyekabuddha Buddhism) known as Do-gyo(도교, 道敎, Taoism) that practises asceticism with Buk-du-chil-seong-yeon-myeng-gyeong(북두칠성연명경, 北斗七星延命經), Do-deok-gyeong(도덕경, 道德經, Tao Te Ching), and Seon(선, 禪, Zen), and Sang-joa-bu-yeon-gak-bul-gyo(상좌부 연각불교, 上座部緣覺佛敎, Theravada Pratyekabuddha Buddhism) and Devil Gwan-eum-bul-gyo(마왕 관음불교, 魔王觀音佛敎, Devil Avalokita Buddhism) that Gwan-se-eum-bo-sal(관세음보살, 觀世音菩薩, Avalokitesvara bodhisattva) pursues to have believers become devil bodhisattvas and devil buddhas.

 

Note:
1. The word ‘seon(선, 仙)’ or ‘sin-seon(신선, 神仙)’ in Korean is similar to the word shénxiān or xian in the meaning.
2. Yeon-deung-bul(연등불, 燃燈佛, Dipamkara buddha) is No-sa-na-bul III(노사나불 3세, 盧舍那佛 3世).
3. The real deity-name of Manjushri born in ancient India is Mun-su-bo-sal II(문수보살 2세, 文殊菩薩 2世).
4. In the word ‘Buk-du-chil-seong-yeon-myeng-gyeong(북두칠성연명경, 北斗七星延命經), ’Buk-du-chil-seong(북두칠성)’ means the Big Plough in English. The word ‘yeon(연, 延)’ means to be lengthen etc, the word ‘myeng(명, 命-)’ means ‘life’ and the word ‘gyeong(경, 經)’ means ‘sutra’, ‘scripture’, or ‘bible’ in English.,br />5. Devil Gwan-eum-bul-gyo(마왕 관음불교, 魔王觀音佛敎, Devil Avalokita Buddhism) has Gwan-eum-gyeong(관음경, 觀音經, Guanyin sutra), Cheon-su-gyeong(천수경, 千手經), Geum-gang-gyeong(금강경, 金剛經, Diamond sutra), and Seon-beop(선법, 禪法, or Zen) that Buddhists or monks in Buddhism practise apart from Buddhism.

 

Both of Seon-gyo(선교, 仙敎, Seon religion) and Devil Gwan-eum-bul-gyo(마왕 관음불교, 魔王觀音佛敎, Gwan-eum Buddhism) belong to Yeon-gak-bul-gyo(연각불교, 緣覺佛敎, Pratyekabuddha Buddhism) that is 5 billion year slower in its evolution level than Seong-mun-bul-gyo(성문불교, 聲聞佛敎, Śrāvaka Buddhism) is.

 

Note :Believers of Seon religion(선교, 仙敎) want to become shénxiān. They have a tendency of a wrong belief that to become shénxiān is supreme enlightenment.

 

Ascetic people who practise in Yeon-gak-bul-gyo(연각불교, 緣覺佛敎, Pratyekabuddha Buddhism) to attain enlightenment can become buddhas or bodhisattvas when they go through all their practice process for enlightenment in Yeon-gak-bul-gyo(연각불교, 緣覺佛敎, Pratyekabuddha Buddhism), then follow providence(순리, 順理) and finally join to Seong-mun(성문, 聲聞, Śrāvaka). The key point is whether they follow providence(순리, 順理) or follow paradox(역리, 逆理) until they join to Seong-mun(성문, 聲聞, Śrāvaka), which is very important to their attainment of Buddhahood buddhas or their destruction.

 

Note :The word ‘Seong-mun(성문, 聲聞)’ is used for people on the ground while the word ‘Seong-mun-seung(성문승, 聲聞乘, Śrāvakayana)’ is used for people, cheon-in(천인, 天人, people 좨 live with their own stars as their beop-sins(법신, 法身, dharmakayas), in yuk-do(육도, 六道, Six-gati). Sometimes the two words are used with the same meaning regardless of people.

 

Although they narrowly attain their supreme enlightenment of geum-seons(금선, 金仙, gold shénxiān), the geum-seons(금선, 金仙, gold shénxiān) suddenly turn to devil buddhas or devil bodhisattvas if they stick to even a very tiny point even for a very little while and they ultimately drive to destruct themselves if they get out of the position of the devil buddhas or the devil bodhisattvas. It should be deeply remembered.
